The newly founded ICA Public Diplomacy Interest Group, chaired by Diana Ingenhoff, organized a very successful post-conference on Public Diplomacy on 30.05.2017, titled “Bridging Disciplinary Perspectives of Country Image, Reputation, Brand, and Identity”, including three academic paper sessions on dimensions of country image measurement, the role of non-state actors in public diplomacy, and structures and strategies in nation branding, followed by a practitioners’ panel with Consuls in San Diego & LA from Canada, Egypt, Germany, Mexico, the Philippines, and Sweden, and a session on teaching Public diplomacy.
The post-conference was attended by members from Asia, Africa, Europe, North America, and great ideas were discussed and collected also for a new Routledge book coming out next year on this topic, edited by members of the organization team: Diana Ingenhoff (University of Fribourg, Switzerland), Candace White (University of Tennessee, USA), Alina Dolea (University of Bucharest, Romania), Kathy R. Fitzpatrick (American University, USA), Alexander Buhmann (BI Norwegian Business School, Norway), Jay Wang (USC Center on Public Diplomacy, USA), Spiro Kiousis (University of Florida, USA).
