Public relations for non-profit organizations

The 2000 CERP E&R Congress focussed on Public Relations for Non-profit Organisations and took place in December 2000 at IULM University in Milan.

The congress had two main objectives: first, to put in common methods and techniques of communication used by PR professionals in the non-profit sector. Secondly, to understand how communication is evolving in the various branches and organisations of the non-profit sector.

The scientific program of December 1st was divided into four sessions. In each of these sessions, academics and professionals presented papers regarding case studies and researches on the specific communication activities done by different non-profit organisations:

  • Corporate Communication
  • Marketing and Social Relations
  • Fundraising
  • Round table on Public Affairs and Social Communication

On December 2nd, participants joined the CERP E&R session dedicated to the role of CERP E&R in the Public Relations research field. A discussion on European guidelines regarding the Public Relations education followed. Finally the winning project of with the Jos Willems Award was presented.
