I am feeling very privileged to be starting my term of office as president at an exciting time for Euprera. We are growing strongly all over the world and there is a good feeling of momentum coming from many members, to build on our unique status as an organisation for innovation that stems directly from European traditions for research, analysis and reflection. We are the only international organisation working to inspire and disseminate positive developments in PR education, research and practice and as we move forward members will work together on ideas to find even more dynamic projects for the future.
This year the board will be presenting proposals to make the organisation entirely transparent and the structures much more open and fluid so that the energy of the members can have direct impacts.
The news is not all positive though as these developments have been inspired by necessity. When our secretary general, Anne Marie Cotton, announced that she would have to be leaving her role at the end of 2009 we began to realise how much we have depended upon her, not only to keep Euprera alive but also to be a driving force in its continued growth and development. We have to change because we cannot depend upon finding anyone else with her high level of commitment to the job. So we must change well!
Looking forward to everything that Euprera is going to do,
