Prof. Tom Watson Inaugural Lecture - 28.02.2011

Vice-Chancellor Professor John Vinney invites you to the Professorial Inaugural Lecture of Tom Watson. Professor Watson will be joined by Professor Dr Ansgar Zerfass.

Time: Registration opens at 5pm.
Refreshments will be available. It is anticipated that the lectures will end by 7.30pm.

The evolution of evaluation - Public Relations eratic path to the measurement of effectiveness

Professor Watson started his career in corporate PR. He gained his Doctor of Philosophy for research into the measurement of public relations activity in 1995 and was promoted to Professor in 2010, only the second professorial appointment in public relations in the UK. Professor Watson is a Fellow of both the Chartered Institute of Public Relations and the PRCA in the UK.

In his professorial inaugural address, entitled 'The Evolution of Evaluation – Public Relations erratic path to the measurement of effectiveness', Professor Watson will use the development of PR measurement and evaluation to map its future and discuss the modern history of public relations.

Ansgar Zerfass
Dr Ansgar Zerfass is Professor of Communication Management at the University of Leipzig, the leading institution for communication studies in Germany. Professor Zerfass’s lecture is entitled 'Corporate Communications Revisited – How communication drives corporate value and legitimisation'.

Venue and date
This lecture will be held in the Executive Business Centre, Lansdowne Campus, Holdenhurst Road, Bournemouth BH8 8EB on Tuesday 15 March. Registration opens at 5pm for a 6pm start, and you are welcome to join us for a celebratory wine reception after the lecture.
