Melbourne Mandate - 16.04.2013
Let's make it even more relevant to the daily work of PR professionals!
A highlight of Global Alliance community's work in 2012 was the collaborative development of the Melbourne Mandate (full text here), a new framework to describe and advocate emerging areas of value that public relations brings to organizations, and to society.
Following a year of dialogue and debate, the Melbourne Mandate was adopted unanimously by more than 800 delegates at the World Public Relations Forum in November 2012.
In addition to defining the characteristics of a communicative organization and the role of our profession in achieving it, Global Alliance sought to make the Melbourne Mandate a practical resource for both practitioners and educators, with embedded tools such as the Integrity Index.
In 2013, the Global Alliance wants to take this work even further - and make the Melbourne Mandate even more relevant to the daily work of its members and their organisations, creating the "Melbourne Mandate Toolkit for Professionals".
