BledCom 2014 Symposium - 05.05.2014
Programme and registration
The 21st edition of BledCom Symposium will take place on July 4 & 5, 2014, in the surroundings of the picturesque alpine lake Bled in Slovenia. Main topic of this year’s symposium will be Digital Publics: New Generation, New Media, New Rules.
The main topic of the symposium is »Digital Publics: New Generation, New Media, New Rules«. Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) have influenced the lives of almost every human being on earth – some more directly than others. Bledcom wishes to explore ICTs and the various dimensions of their impact on our lives. These include not only the use of ICTs by corporations, a popular topic among public relations scholars who have addressed new media, but also their use by governments (e-governance and e-government, for example) and non-profits (ICTs for social good).
Here are just a few incentives for attending this year's symposium. There will be four attractive panels and two top noch keynote speakers. And as we have been breaking records for the number of abstracts from leading scolars and practicioners in nearly 30 countries, this year, for the first time in the history of the symposium, we will have no less than six parallel sessions! First keynote speaker on Friday, July 4, is Stephen Waddington, European Digital and Social Media Director for Ketchum and President of the CIPR. Stephen is a public relations consultant, author and journalist, with a reputation of a public relations moderniser. Keynote speaker on Saturday, July 5, is Sorin Adam Matei, Associate Professor of Communication at Purdue University, who specializes in research methods, multimedia design, usability, online interaction and online community development.
Registration is open and Euprera members will benefit of a discount on the registration fee.
