Reader/Senior Lecturer in Media and Public Relations. Applications by October 30.

You will be responsible to the Head of the Department of Media and Communication for research, teaching, administration and other activities supporting the work of the Department and developing and enhancing its reputation, both internal and external to the University, both nationally and internationally. As a more senior member of the Department, the post-holder will assist other senior staff in mentoring and appraisal of junior-graded staff. Your research interests should fit within, or be complementary to, the existing research interests of the department. For this post we are particularly interested in candidates with special interests in, media and public relations to take a lead in developing our vocationally oriented teaching programmes (Advertising and PR) and to lead research development in these areas.
"For appointment at the Reader level, we will expect you to display sustained productivity in respect of research publications at the highest international level over a number of years together with a clearly established track record of research grant income generation and academic leadership covering a thematic area within which you are internationally recognised as a ‘beacon’ researcher (meaning international recognition as an outstanding contributor to the field). We would also expect you to display extensive experience of successful supervision of doctoral students, with candidates hoping for appointment at Reader level also displaying experience in mentoring junior academic colleagues.
