Recent books on militant communication and PR - 16.06.2015
Two new books for French scholars
The first is titled "Les nouvelles luttes sociales et environnementales. Notre Dame des Landes, droit au logement, gaz de schiste… Les nouvelles formes de la contestation", by Thierry Libaert and Jean-Marie Pierlot. This book presents the mechanisms of communication in the context of citizenship struggles: nowadays, groups and associations who fight for environmental and social causes have to develop communication strategies. This book presents this field with an approach that is both reflexive and operational, and it offers many concrete examples.
The second is a textbook titled "Les relations publiques", by Andrea Catellani and Caroline Sauvajol-Rialland. It presents, in a limited number of pages, a complete introduction to public relations: definitions; basic concepts and notions; history; scientific approaches; ethics; strategy and evaluation; PR and new media. The authors offer a synthetic introduction to the field of PR, focusing on a European point of view. The book is also available as e-book.
