Living Memory, to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the 1966 flood in Florence - 27.01.2016
Milano (Italy), February 5, 2016
It is the first time that all the Italian professional associations related to communication gather together for an event! The aim is to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the 1966 flood, by the promotion of scientific, cultural and communication projects, but above all to take effective action to minimise the impact of damage on people, cultural heritage, the economy and the environment in future disasters.
This means having the 1966 flood as a starting point to deal with floods today, fostering measures based on respect for water, both as a resource and as a hazard, and on the growth of the culture of public health and safety. The crises of the environment, climate change and the impoverishment of the planet require research, ideas and new strategies to educate citizens to have respect for water resources and to protect themselves from potential dangers. The event will take place on February 5, 2016, in Milano.
