LCM launches its second edition about tendencies of communication management in Latin America - 02.05.2016

Latin American Communication Monitor, the biggest study on communication in Latin America, launches its second edition. This project is organized by EUPRERA with the partnership of the Asociación de Directivos de Comunicación (Dircom) and sponsored by Llorente & Cuenca, leader consultancy on reputation management, communication and public affairs in Spain, Portugal y Latin America.

The edition 2016-2017 of the biennial study explores, among other topics, the use of big data and automatization of communication, strategic issues or the competences of practitioners in management and social media. It also deals with new approaches of communication training for CCOs and other members of the organizations, engagement with stakeholders and influencers’ roles. Use of big data and automatization of communication will be some of the topics to be analysed.

The study is underway with scientific purposes and confidentiality of participant is granted. Characteristics of excellent communication departments will be identified and comparisons will be provided by types of organizations (joint stocks companies, private companies, NGO’s, governmental, consultancies and agencies), by countries and between continents, providing original and relevant insights at global level.

Participants will answer to these topics and others and share their experiences to take part in the panoramic of the strategic communication field, an increasing sector in Latin America. The online survey targets are communication professionals working in organizations, consultancies and freelancers. All participants will receive a report and a summary video and will participate in a prize of an inscription to Cibecom, the I Iberoamerican Communication Summit, that will take place on April 2017 in Miami, Conclusions of this study will be presented for its first time in Cibecom.

The LCM is part of the group of Global Communication Monitor studies, along with the European Communication Monitor (ECM), with ten published editions from 2007, and the Asian Pacific Communication Monitor (APCM). The Global Communication Monitor is the study with the most reliable data about communication management worldwide, with a participation of more than 22,000 practitioners on balance.

Academics of  eleven renowned universities in Latin America, Spain and the United States of America perform the LCM. The study is leaded by Ángeles Moreno, professor of University Rey Juan Carlos and Executive Director of EUPRERA, and by Juan Carlos Molleda, Professor and Director of the Public Relations Department of University of Florida. University Luterana of Brazil, University of Medellín (Colombia), University National of Córdoba (Argentina) and University of Communication (Mexico) participate in the research team. University of Sao Paulo, University of Hemisferios and Technic University of Loja (Ecuador), University Adolfo Ibáñez (Chile) and University Católica Madre y Maestra (Dominican Republic) act as Advisory Board.
