Five years ago, amid a world turned upside down by a pandemic, escalating climate emergencies, and growing social tensions, INTERDECOM launched the International Declaration of Communications Professionals and Researchers for a Healthier, Viable, Better World. Thanks to the commitment and support of over 160 organisations, what began in January 2021 at a time of global disruption has blossomed into a shared journey, uniting communication communities around the values of responsibility, collaboration, and hope.

With 160 professional and scientific communications organisations worldwide endorsing the International Declaration of Communications Professionals and Researchers for a Healthier, Viable, Better World—spanning public relations, advertising, marketing, journalism, public affairs, and media—this initiative fosters expertise and collaboration in response to the global challenges we face.

EUPRERA signed the Declaration in 2021 and has remained an active part of this mobilisation. Our continued engagement is featured in the Album, pp. 28–29 and 37–39.

Today, INTERDECOM and EUPRERA celebrate this momentous milestone: five years of unwavering commitment, action, and vision. To commemorate the occasion, INTERDECOM’s special HORIZONS ECHOES issue presents an Anniversary Album — a visual journey through five years of global collaboration. This album is, above all, dedicated to everyone, whose commitment has played a pivotal role in shaping and sustaining this collective initiative.

“What has become clear since the launch in 2021 is that the Declaration is not just a symbolic commitment; it is a concrete expression of the communications community’s shared responsibility,” says Solange Tremblay, co-initiator and first co-author of the Declaration.
