International visiting scholarship at the University of Fribourg

The University of Fribourg’s Department of Communication and Media Research DCM with fund raised by the department’s founding fathers Dr. Max Gressly and Dr. Florian Fleck is offering an International Visiting Scholarship. 

The scholarship addresses young internationally-orientated post-doctoral scholars who are on a research or a sabbatical leave. The quality of the applicants should be demonstrated by publications in international peer-reviewed journals or by promising ongoing research projects. Priority will be given to applicants from outside of Switzerland focusing on research projects which correspond to the research interests at the DCM.

Applicants are requested to submit a letter of application, a statement outlining their re-search plans and their motivations, a curriculum vitae, a list of publications (with the most significant publications highlighted), copies of degree certificate(s) and an academic letter of recommendation.

Deadline for application is September 30.

Postdoctoral position at the University of Vienna

The University of Vienna invites applications for a postdoctoral position in public relations research at the Department of Communication. The application deadline is December 1, 2021.

The Department of Communication at the University of Vienna is one of the largest worldwide in its field and has a strong focus on research.

The full-time postdoc position is limited to 6 years and part of the Department’s Corporate Communication Research Group. Applicants should have a PhD in Communication Science or a related field (e.g. Business Administration, Psychology). A specialization in one or more of the following expert areas is of advantage: Employee communication, Digital communication, CSR, Crisis communication, Persuasion, Media effects.

This involves: Participation in research projects; International publishing and presentation activities; Project application and acquisition of third-party-funds; Independent teaching accordingto regulations of wage agreement (2 courses per semester); Examination activities and support of students; Participation in evaluation activities and in quality assurance; Participation in administrative tasks atthe department.

Job Profile

PhD in Communication Scienceor a related field (e.g. Business Administration, Psychology); Subject-specific competenciesin the field of corporate and/or marketing communication; a specialization in one or more of the following expert areasis of advantage: Crisis communication, Digitalcommunication, Stakeholder relationships, CSR, Reputation management, Persuasion; In-depthknowledge of quantitative methods and statistical data analysis; Didactic competencies; Excellent English-skills (German proficiency is of advantage); IT skills: MS Office, SPSSor equivalent; Experience in publishing and presenting internationally; Teaching experience/experience with online teaching advantageous; Ability to work in teams, flexibilityand commitment.
