For the second time the Academic Society for Management & Communication presents the Communications Trend Radar – an interdisciplinary and scientific study on the most important trends that will influence communication management in the near future.

In the second edition of the Communications Trend Radar sees Language Awareness, Closed Communication, Gigification, Synthetic Media, and Cybersecurity as drivers for change in corporate communications.

The COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated changes in almost all areas of society, creating new opportunities and also threatening the success of corporate communications. How can communication experts identify the important trends apart from the unimportant ones? “Most communications managers neither have the time nor the resources to observe trends throughout the year, especially when it comes to new topics outside the communications industry,” explains Professor Ansgar Zerfass from Leipzig University. Together with Stefan Stieglitz, Professor at the University of Duisburg-Essen, he is heading the multi-year study which was launched by the Academic Society for Management & Communication in 2020. The Communications Trend Radar primarily observes changes in the areas of society, management, and technology.
