#EUPRERAtalks – Scholar’s Studio: Inside the Making of an Award-Winning Paper
Scholar’s Studio: Inside the Making of an Award-Winning Paper
Date and Time: April 17, 2026, 14:00 (CEST)
What to expect from the webinar
Developing a strong theoretical contribution is often one of the most challenging parts of academic research, especially for PhD candidates and early-career scholars. Ideas evolve slowly, arguments change, and reviewer feedback can reshape a paper in unexpected ways. Yet these stages are rarely visible in the final published article.
This EUNES webinar invites participants inside the research process behind an award-winning conceptual paper. Assistant Professor Rickard Andersson (Lund University) will reflect on the development of his article “Strategic communication and value creation: A process theoretical understanding of value formation in strategic communication management.”
The webinar will explore how the paper’s core idea developed: from the initial research puzzle to the final theoretical contribution. Participants will gain insights into how conceptual research evolves in practice, including how scholars deal with uncertainty, refine theoretical arguments, and respond to reviewer feedback.
The session will also address practical questions that many emerging scholars face, such as:
- When is an idea “developed enough” to start writing?
- How do theoretical arguments change during the review process?
- How can researchers respond to reviewer critiques while protecting their core idea?
The webinar will conclude with an interactive Q&A, offering participants the opportunity to discuss theory development, conceptual publishing, and the realities of academic research.
Organised by the European Network of Emerging Scholars (EUNES) within EUPRERA, this webinar aims to make the research process more transparent and to support emerging scholars in developing confidence in their own conceptual work.
